Using these techniques allows custom users interfaces to be created that utilise
SharePoint features. For example, a web part is used to customise an application
specific search for pilots held in the system:
More complex forms were created using connected web parts. When displaying information
on a test, three connected web parts are used:
Reporting
Within SharePoint ad hoc and more formal reporting can be implemented using SharePoint
list views. This allows filtering, grouping and summaries. In this case, the reporting
requirement was for reports that could be emailed as PDFs to users without access
to the system.
