The Solution
The solution consists of three main elements:
- Creation of a SharePoint site with the Publishing Feature enabled.
- Creation of an ASP.NET Web Site with Visual Studio 2008.
- A “One-click Publish” option to publish content pages, images and menus from the
SharePoint site to the public facing ASP.NET Internet Site
From the User’s Perspective
To create content, users perform tasks to:
- Create and edit publishing pages.
- Manage images.
- Manage the menu structure.
- Publish the site.
When creating new publishing pages the user is prompted to select the page layout
to be used. This defines the nature of the content (e.g. the number of images, number
text columns and the overall layout).
